Oh Comely
"Oh Comely is a lifestyle magazine with life
It is a magazine that makes people smile, full of quiet moments and stories. Read it with a cup of tea or a toddy.
It inspires people to be creative, talk to their neighbours and explore new things. There are adventures that capture the feeling of being free, stories from people with tales to tell, recipes to warm your heart, and crafty things to make. All these things, wrapped up in beautiful words, illustration and photography." - Oh Comely website -
I have looked at samples of Oh Comely magazine and as a flicked through the pages I found that this journal is more of an art based magazine rather than photography based. If you're looking at the magazine and the way it's been presented, you will see that it's full of stories, pages of written texts using basic fonts. It's very neat and spacious. Pure white background, nothing vibrance used just neutral tones. This contemporary magazine includes various subjects and the long documentary style texts make the readers explore more. Most of the images are simple and their colors fit into the same color scheme.
Here are some example of photography based pictures that I found interesting and caught my attention.

Our task is to submit at least one image created using PS and one created without it in its December issue. First of all I have to consider a few things, like what kind of work would fit in with the style and ethos of the magazine. So after the research, now I have a clue about the style of the magazine but because the work I need to produce should fit within December theme, I had to gather some information about it.
